Miss E - Giddy with excitement wedding gift!

I wanted to do something special for my fiancé as a personal wedding gift. A good friend of mine had a shoot awhile ago and her photos looked amazing. I had always wanted to do something like this, but was hesitant because I didn't think my personality, my body, could pull off such photos. However with my friend's encouragement, I took the leap and did it!

I was really nervous and excited at the same time for my shoot! For a few weeks prior, I was going tanning almost every day, just to get a little color because my skin is so fair. However, I didn't want to risk getting burned just before the shoot, so for the two days leading up to the shoot, I didn't go tanning. I did special skin treatment for a couple weeks before, and drank a ton of water so my skin would look as best as it could.

When I arrived I was giddy with excitement, but still so nervous and a little reserved. I also happened to be sick, but hoped I could overcome those feelings long enough to have a great experience. It started with getting my hair and makeup done which was just a blast. The cosmetologist was absolutely wonderful. She was so nice and friendly. She told me about her own personal boudoir experience, which put me at ease a little bit as well.

The photoshoot was SO MUCH FUN! I LOVED IT! I was expecting the positions to be really hard to get in to, but they weren't nearly as hard as I imagined. I was expecting to be extremely uncomfortable and awkward, but surprisingly I wasn't. Shalista was so wonderful, I can't even describe it. She was so encouraging. She continued to tell me how great I was doing, how awesome I looked, everything! There was one outfit that I was so uncomfortable in, and right before I went to put it on I said, "I'll put on the red one now, to get it over with, because I'm super uncomfortable in it." When I came out her response was, "I don't know what you're so worried about. You look rockin' in that!" That was an great self-esteem and confidence booster! I just had the best experience! =D

When I went to see my images, I was excited! Just plain excited. When I saw my photos, I was just blown away at how awesome they looked. While I was driving there I kept saying to myself, "Only 10. Only pick 10." Well....I ended up picking 24. It was too hard to choose! I loved them all!

AND! My now husband, LOVED the images! He loved them so much that he asked me if there was a way I could get another book with the remaining images! So that too makes me feel great, and just another testimonial at how talented Shalista is!

I would DEFINITELY do this again! I had such a fun time, the images turned out so great. Yes! I am so excited to tell everyone about Shalista. Encourage them to have the same wonderful and uplifting experience that I had.

  1. What made you decide to do a boudoir session? Please describe how you came to the decision and what finally made you take the leap!

I was getting married, and really wanted to surprise my new husband with this different side of me as a wedding gift. I was super nervous because I'm not alluring, I'm not sexy, none of those things. But my friend Delilah Filholm did a shoot awhile ago and explained to me how fun it was and comfortable you made her feel. She encouraged me to do it, promised me I would love it, and wouldn't regret it. And since I really wanted to do something different like this, as a personal, private gift for the one I love, I went for it!

  2. What made you decide to hire me as your photographer?

My really good friend Delilah recommended you. Told me how wonderful her experience was. She also received an email for her and a friend (me) to receive a free Bombshell shoot, and she gave it to me!

  3. How were you feeling before your shoot? Any thoughts going through your head?

I was so incredibly nervous, but excited at the same time! I felt like my now husband would really appreciate me doing something like this for him. I wanted him to like the photos. Which also made me even more nervous because I'm a very awkward person, and I didn't want to photos to look awkward. I'm a pretty conservative person as well, always hiding my body because I'm so self-conscious, so this was a giant leap outside my comfort zone, and I wanted to do a really good job.

  4. Now that you've had your own photo shoot, how was it?

I LOVED IT!!! Shalista made me feel so comfortable! Made me feel so pretty! Told me I was doing a great job! My self-esteem took a giant boost that day because of her! I was a little shy in the beginning, but with her encouraging comments and wonderful direction my self-confidence continued to climb, and by the end I felt like time just flew. I had such a wonderful time.

  5. How did you feel about having your hair and makeup done?

I absolutely loved having my hair and makeup done. The cosmetologist was fantastic, friendly, and did a great job. Every girl loves to get pampered.
