12 Most Asked Questions About Boudoir

Most Asked Questions about Boudoir

Deciding to do a boudoir session can be scary. When I’m talking to women about their boudoir photoshoot, I get asked all kinds of questions. So, I wanted to compile a list of my top 12 most frequently asked questions just give me some insight and preparing for a boudoir session and what it is all about!

Do you share my images?

My number one priority is making sure that you are comfortable, especially since it's a boudoir session. It can be a life-changing experience but that also makes it really nerve-wracking.   Sometimes, you are learning to love your body and you aren't quite ready to show the images with sthe world, or sometimes these photos are specifically for a loved one and aren't for anybody else's eyes. These are both great reasons for not sharing your photos and it all depends on your personal preference. We never pressure you to share any of your images. They are always considered private unless you give us written permission to share and you have complete control over which images we do share if you do give us permission.

Do I have to wear lingerie?

You definitely don't have to wear lingerie. You can wear whatever you want.  Once you book your session we will send out a preparation guide that goes over many suggestions on items that you can wear that aren't lingerie. You can also head over to this blog that goes over wardrobe options and gives you ideas for non lingerie things to wear at your boudoir photoshoot.

 Do you have payment plans?

We offer both pre and post session payment plans there is a booking retainer to book your actual shoot and then you can either choose to purchase a collection in advance and earn bonus items or you can also pay after your session for up to 90 days. If you have specific questions on how payment plans work please send me a message and we can go through all of the details with you.

 Is hair and makeup included?

I think it's really important for you to feel tampered and special on your boudoir session day and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that. I work with a team of professional stylists that can help you complete your look. They will consult with you to give you the exact looks you envision whether that is a natural “I just woke up like this” look or a “pedal to the metal full on glam! you can bring any ideas you want for hair and makeup and we will use that for inspiration and make sure that you love the way you look for your photos.

 Do you photoshop my images?

I do edit your images for light exposure and color balance. I don't edit out anything that is permanent unless you specifically request it.  Part of the process of having a boudoir session is learning to love yourself. Many clients are surprised at how much they love their images straight out of the camera. With expert posing and lighting we honestly don't need to use that much Photoshop.

What type of products do you have?

We have a variety of albums and luxury boxes with prints. I absolutely love the feel of picking up a physical album and cthumbing through the images. It is so surreal to see yourself in print. It’s not the same as looking at a screen. I also offer a variety of wall art including canvas, metal and acrylic prints. Hanging a large piece of art of you on your wall is it daily reminder that you  are beautiful and it's a wonderful tribute to loving yourself.

Do you offer digitals?

All of our collections include some sort of print and digital product. You can also order a la cart digital files.

I am freaking out! How can I call my nerves?

Nerves are part of the experience and it is completely normal to have some anxiety and excitement leading up to your session. I always say that it would probably be weird if you weren’t a little bit nervous. We’ve  tried to create a warm and welcoming environment at the studio and after getting you settled in and your hair and makeup experience, most clients are much relaxed and excited about the photoshoot part. If you read the reviews, a lot of clients share that it was way easier than they expected. This is totally true!

How many outfits should I bring?

Our bombshell photo shoot includes three outfits plus and an optional fourth which can be the white sheets, the shower or a fourth outfit of your choice. I always recommend bringing a couple extra outfits in case you're just not feeling one of the outfits that day and so we can choose together the outfits that will work best for your fantasy boudoir photoshoot!

Should I get to my shoot early?

You should plan on getting to the studio right on time.  If your a session is at 10:00 a.m. come right at 10:00 a.m. The hair and makeup artist will be there ready for you and that is the time that we will get you into the dressing area and start your makeover. There is no need to come early!
